Gavin Watson (from Touchy Feely, April 1999)

GavFull Name: Gavin Watson

Nick names:
Grover, One-Arm Bandit

Most Famous For?: Injuring myself (shoulder dislocations), drinking large quantities, my stirring pep talks.

Most Memorable Social Event?: New Years 1997, Sheldon St. Norwood. Our place got trashed.

Most Memorable Trip Away?: Uni Games Brisbane '93; Mt. Gambier '97 (first AUTC side to win the carnival).

What playing tip can you offer beginners?: Get involved as much as you can both in a playing and social sense. You'll learn quicker and meet loads of people.

Most Hated Rule?: I'll be diplomatic and say the rules are fine...and let's leave it at that.

Biggest Influence on Touch career and why?: Danny Travers - so laid back, but has incredible skills and insight into the game. The RAH, Flinders Medical Centre - putting me back together.

Greatest Moment?: At Mt. Gambier '95, I dived 3 times in 20 seconds without injuring myself.

Worst moment?: To be honest I haven't had a moment that has been a worst moment...I suppose injuring myself and losing finals (consistently on both counts).

Most Feared Opponent?: Katie Emmel, she's SCARY!
